They replaced it with MTVJams (yet MORE soul, R&B, and hip-hop), as yet more proof that metal is either dead or pop. sigh So no more Rollins Band videos. No Dropkick Murphys. No more unpop punk. But, do we really need another Rap, R & B, etc... channel, when MTV 1 & 2 are primarily that anyway? And why do it on the "Hard Rock" weekend. Wouldn't that be a great time to promote MTVX.. Oh well. It is not a large enough phenomena to support it's own stations. patsrule Member	posted May 06, 2002 18:43 You guys talking about add revenues or mtvx not making enough revenues don't seem to realise that MTVX was a completely add free channel. There was no possible way to make revenue on the station, same way as it is now as MTV Jams. The disappearance of MTVX had nothing to do with not making enough profit. IP: Logged

Enough to warrant that freaky Asian-guy-with-spiky-hair-make-up-and-whacked-out-guitar interstitial as a transition between commercial breaks and video blocks. The commercial breaks were what made me jump down to MTV Espanol to get a glimpse of the overly-happy or over-the-top Spanish videos, or the latest movie-style vignette by Enrique Iglesias (co-starring Jennifer Love Hewitt)....
