They pretty much set the standard for prog metal. For those of you (and I am in this group) who don't think they are heavy enough and don't feature Petrucci enough, they play the way they do because they want to. When they want, they can be as heavy as anyone. Check their new vid and listen to them play "Damage, Inc." with the singer from Napalm Death. Pretty radical departure for a bunch of jazz majors from Berklee (good school, eh Jaysin?!). Their music drives me nuts sometimes with all the screwball time changes and extended instrumentals. But, they are arguably the most instrumentally talented rock band ever. I asked this question before, but Savatage lists DT in the "Thank-you" part of the liner notes on TWOM; whazzup with that?! I know Jon has always wanted to tour with them, but have they ever played on the same show, other than the MOR in Brazil this year??
