Dude, I'm just funnin'. Petrucci is technically a brilliant guitarist there is absolutely no doubt. I just finished listening to Awake. The one thing I don't understand about JP is why he is so laid back emotionally with his playing. I'm an old guy and grew up with some great guitarist, Sanatana, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Buck Dharma, Rik Emmett. Frank Marino. I've have seen some fabulous younger guys like Hoey, Ty Tabor, Cris Oliva. All the brilliant ones seem to have one thing in common, it is them and their guitar...nothing else matters. These guys play as if those are the only two things in the world. Now JP may have no peers when it comes to technical proficiency, maybe Steve Morse is the only one who exceeds him. He just dosen't seem like he enjoys playing. I dunno its a a grey fuzzy concept.
Don't get me wong though, I love his playing, its quite good. I just wouldn't choose his playing over those other guys I named because they make you listen and feel there music. JP dosen't.
