Mp3 files are compressed audio files. They can be of excellent sound quality while still staying relatively small in size. A file recorded at 44Hhz in wav format would be huge..but when you convert that .wav into an Mp3 file...it becomes about 1MB per minute of music. So a complete song with excellent sound quality stays around 3-5MB in size. You need to have special players to be able to use it though. I recommend WinAmp. You can download it at most download sites (www.softseek.com, www.download.com, etc..)
