The term "rock opera" is nothing mpore than a marketing device. If you've read many interviews with Jon regarding the use of this term, you know where he stands. There have been very, very few rock operas. the Who's "Tommy" being the genuine article. Savatage has done several concept albums, "story albums" if you will. But they are really not structured like an opera. Floyd's "The Wall"--definitely not a rock opera. Concept album folks. They're all concept albums. I personally love concept albums, and if it's all the Sava does for the rest of time, that's great, as long as they are each unique, and I think you'll agree that Streets, DWD, and TWOM are all incredibly unique bodies of work.
